Monday Musings: Sex Trafficking and the Super Bowl

alg-superbowl-nynj01-jpgNext Sunday, February 2nd, America will be watching the Denver Broncos play the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLIII. What most of these people will not be aware of is the ugly side of this great sporting event.

You may or may not have heard, but the most trafficked time of the year for sex-trafficking in America is the Super Bowl. THOUSANDS of people are brought to the host city for the purpose of exploitation.

What if you could make a difference for those thousands? What if you could make a difference for even one of them? This is not something that we can do on our own. For this wicked injustice to end we need God. Prayer is a powerful weapon, and I do urge you to pray this week for this event.

1 John 5:14-15 (ESV) says this:

And this is the confidence that we have toward Him, that if we ask anything according to His will He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of Him.

YOUR prayers make a difference. Please take the time today or this week to check out the Prayer Bowl 2014. They provide a prayer focus and you can also join the prayer team.

1 Peter 3:12 (ESV)

For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

If our God is for us, then who can be against us? Please keep those who are being trafficked and exploited in your prayers this week.

Will you join me?
