“But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.” 1 Corinthians 2:10
When I think about God giving a revelation of Himself that is in the depth of His character, my thoughts always go to the story in Matthew 13 where Jesus is sitting with a few of his disciples and asks them, “Who do people say that I am?” but His most important question was “Who do you say that I am?” Peter answered that He was the Christ, the Son of the Living God. What happens next is that Jesus calls him blessed as this was not something revealed to Him by natural man, but by God in heaven.
If Jesus were to ask you, “Who am I?” – How would you respond? Every revelation of who He is that you have has been revealed to you by Holy Spirit who searches the depths of God – the mysteries of the deep. It is only by Holy Spirit that we obtain this revelation of God’s will and ways, His gifts and salvation. Man cannot come to this revelation on their own. It is only by Holy Spirit and God chooses to share those revelations with us.
What a gift!
From the mysteries of His deep, God has been revealed to me as the still and peaceful waters – the sea of glass. And yet, He is the mighty waves that crash with a thunderous roar. This display of who He is shows not only He as a necessity to life, but it also shows the power and majesty that is packed in who He is.
What mysteries of His deep have been revealed to you?
